Michael D. Brown, O.D.

Dr. Brown is a graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry. He has been practicing in Salt Lake City since 1984. He is a member of both the American Optometric Association and of the Utah Optometric Association, as well as the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Brown's specialty in contact lenses has taken him all over the country on an advisory position with Vistakon. He is a participating member of VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity) and has traveled to Mexico on many occasions to provide basic vision needs to the poor and needy of Mexico. He has been a participating doctor in "Save Your Vision Week," since 1986, providing free eye exams and glasses to the working poor in Utah, for which work he has been recognized by President Jimmy Carter.


Jeannette Pontiero, O.D.

Dr. Jeannette Pontiero graduated with honors from the University of Waterloo Optometry and Vision Science program in Canada.  She joined the practice at Mountain West Eyecare in January of 2014. She has participated in various volunteer initiatives including an eyecare mission to the Philippines. She completed an externship at the Eye Foundation of Utah and has a special interest in managing glaucoma as well as dry eye disease. She is especially fond of treating children of all ages and believes that your child’s vision is of utmost importance. Dr. Pontiero enjoys spending time with her husband travelling, mountain biking, skiing and she also loves to cook.


Ruth Stoddard

Ruth is the receptionist here at Mountain West Eye Care.  Don't be surprised if you receive a phone call from here the day before your appointment!  As a Grandmother of five, she's great with the children you bring into our office.  Feel free to give her a call today and schedule your appointment.
